The cooperative Reficom has gradually established itself from 2013 on. This MFI, a community financial system, is integrated into a global development strategy. Reficom’s mission is to be an institution specialising in financial and non-financial services in southwestern Guatemala with an emphasis on the development of communities in the productive sector.
The MFI offers credit and savings products for both individual and group loans. Focusing on the rural areas of the country, the microfinance products offered by the institution, reach the Mayan population.
In 2013, Reficom had 13 branches in 6 of the country’s 22 departments, and to date 3 agencies have been added to existing ones.
