FIE Gran Poder is a microfinance institution created in 2001 by a doctor to provide financial services to Bolivian emigrants. FIE’s vision is to be a strong and leading leader in microfinance in Argentina, while fulfilling the shareholders’ requirements of promoting sustainable growth for clients and the institution.
The institution employs 96 employees in 9 branches. 69% of the employees are female and 50% of the management positions are held by women.
To achieve their vision, the MFI promotes the development of micro and small businesses by offering financial and non-financial products and services to enhance their growth opportunities and boost their integration into the social economy. FIE targets disadvantaged populations via low average loans.
Around 50% of its clients come from Peruvian, Bolivian or Paraguayan immigration, which allows FIE to play a strong role in their economic and social integration. More than 5,800 micro-entrepreneurs are funded. Only one financial product is offered to clients: the unique loan. Despite the fact that this institution has only one product, this one, due to its conditions is flexible enough to adapt to the needs of its customers. The sectors of activity covered by FIE are: service and trade (53%), production and crafts (24%), housing (18%) and consumption (5%).
