Letshego Kenya Limited

.
The Letshego group began its operations with the objective of developing a financial offer tailored to the specific needs of urban and peri-urban areas and is now present in 11 African countries. Letshego Kenya Limited (LKL) was established in Kenya after the acquisition of Micro Africa Limited. LKL provides financial services to micro-entrepreneurs (70% of clients) and low-income employees in the public and private sectors (30% of clients). 50% of the loans are dedicated to finance productive investments (rental or productive activity). The MFI targets excluded segments of the banking sector and thus addresses the need for financial inclusion in Kenya.
Letshego supports a total of 25,908 clients through 20 agencies concentrated in the South of the country where the demand is stronger. The borrowers who live in rural areas make up 80% of the total and almost half of them are women. The average disbursed loan is EUR 1,711.
LKL can count on their highly experienced members who bring a strong experience in finance and microfinance to the MFI. This allows the MFI to focus on improving operational efficiency and promoting digital channels to meet the demand and new needs.
The MFI has implemented a range of products targeting key sectors for the development of poor people and in 2017, loans to the education sector were added to their product range. LKL offers funding to schools, teachers and parents.
