The first step

The example of seven young entrepreneurs who have decided to create a social and economic company with the support of the MFI INMAA

Sidi Jaber is a rural community located at 7 km from the city of Benimallal in the center of Morocco. Employment opportunities are not often available, especially for young people.

To find a solution to their situation, seven young people of the town, with multiple skills, led a reflection to create an income generating activity. During the discussion, one member suggested the creation of a cooperative and the idea was appreciated by the others. The seven young people  then created the cooperative ANAHDA.

The first project on the agenda of the discussion was a sheep farm. The seven young people have decided to engage. After studying this opportunity, the constraint of funding was raised. The youth then decided to contact INMAA, which markets a financial solidarity product to finance cooperatives. After studying the file of financing and verification of the motivation of the team and its solidarity, INMAA decided to support the project. To demonstrate their seriousness, the seven young people have built a stable of their personal contribution.

After this step, INMAA has provided these young people training sessions on breeding sheeps and financial education. They received appropriate funding and were able to realize their project. The cooperative ANAHDA has created seven jobs for young people of the rural commune.

After paying all the installments, the youth had the ambition to go forward in creating a project of dairy cows which is under study.
