Nai Net
Nai Net has two little children and lives with them in Teok Chhou in rural Cambodia. She is the owner of a small business which produces bamboo baskets. In order to be able to pay for her first materials Nai Net went to SAMIC, a local Microfinance Institution with which the LMDF works, and they gave her the opportunity to borrow 1,000,000 KHR, the equivalent of 228 Euros. Over time, the loan has enabled her business to grow and it has become relatively successful. This enabled Nai Net to apply for a second loan to expand her business still further.
In an interview with Nai Net she told us “With the loan from SAMIC, my business has improved and I can now keep growing it. This means my business can generate higher income and help me to support my daily expenses. Now I can also buy farming land near my home and have the chance to send my children to school. My future plans are to expand my business even further and generate more income. Finally I would like to thank SAMIC who have always provided me loans in times where I have needed money to sustain my business.”
